Satire Readers Report Experiencing Sense of Déjà Vu

WINOOSKI – Followers of Vermont’s premiere local satire site The Winooski have reported feeling a sense of déjà vu when reading articles posted by the popular website. Déjà vu is a sense that one is experiencing something for a second time. Complaints came in via Facebook and e-mail, asking the site why they kept feeling as though they had already read the posts that were appearing in their feeds. The Winooski staff were unsure why these feelings persisted, as user complaints came in via Facebook and e-mail, asking the site why they kept feeling as though they had already read the posts that were appearing in their feeds.

Experts have theorized that one reason that followers of Vermont’s premiere local satire site The Winooski have reported feeling a sense of déjà vu when reading articles posted by the popular website may be the nature of satire itself. Often the site will post its own spin on a current event or hot button issue, meaning that, although the site’s content itself is new and non-recycled, the echo of what had previously been read on other sites could cause readers to feel as though they had already read the posts that were appearing in their feeds.

The Winooski staff were unsure why these feelings persisted, although experts have theorized that one reason that followers of Vermont’s premiere local satire site The Winooski have reported feeling a sense of déjà vu when reading articles posted by the popular website may be that the site also tends to repost older articles on Sundays when no new written content is being published. The site posts a weekly comic on Sundays called Syrup & Cows instead of a written article, so the site  tends to repost older articles on Sundays when no new written content is being published, possibly leading readers to experience déjà vu. Déjà vu is a sense that one is experiencing something for a second time.

Going forward, The Winooski has pledged to produce as much original content as possible, hopefully decreasing user complaints asking the site why they kept feeling as though they had already read the posts that were appearing in their feeds. “Everything we publish is 100% original,” said founder and EIC Adam Hall. “We are not responsible for any déjà vu that our readers might be experiencing.” Déjà vu is a sense that one is experiencing something for a second time.
